20 Year Old Detained At Apac CPS For Raping His Grandmother.

Police in Apac central police station are holding a 20 year old Daniel Okori resident of Amia B village in Aboko parish, Aduku Sub County in Apac district over allegations of raping a 103 year old woman of the same area who took care of his father.

Pamela Akullu the officer in charge Criminal intelligence and investigations department at Apac CPS said the case file CRB 292/2017 recorded at Aduku police post has statements that Okori used great force during the fateful Saturday (08/07/2017) morning at 02.10 am.

SP Alfonse Ojangole the district police commander said the suspect would soon be presented to court and charged with rape and attempted murder.

Okori earlier accepted the accusation before the LC1 chairperson of Alira B Mr Sam Abwon after concerned residents trailed him with his footsteps early on Saturday morning.

The victim Jupenia Alira, 103 years speaking from her hospital bed said a very energetic young man forced her into the act after squeezing her neck badly while assuring her of death if she continues to alarm or objects his mission, unfortunately she did not identify him at that time.

“That fateful night it was raining and there was no light, I didn’t think it could be him (grandson)” Jupenia said.

Sam Abwon also told our Adwarping that the suspect and victim are all members of Ogora Clan, adding that “this boy (Okori) has become a drug addict and habitual drunkard in this village (Amia B) we hope the law will help us with him”.

One of the clinical officers at Aduku health center IV where the victim has been hospitalized said the old woman was admitted in critical condition on Saturday morning while unconscious but has gained, and is well on the recovery truck.

“She had injuries on the neck, hands, and private parts but currently recovering”
