Police Recovers Pistol And Army Attires from Suspected Motorcycle Thief.

Police in Gulu on Thursday recovered a pistol and several military attires during a raid at the home of a suspected motorcycle thief.
Aswa river police spokesperson, Patrick Jimmy Okema says the firearm is a 9mm caliber pistol with serial number UG-IDN007251/00755, CF98-9007251/08236, it contained 14 rounds of live ammunition.
The other attires included two pairs of army uniforms, military boots and other military related attires and also a motorcycle number plate registration number UBC 325W.
Okema says a woman identified as Mercy Anyango, 19 years old was arrested in connection to the recovery.
Anyango is a wife to Tony Ogwal who is a key suspect for stealing a bajaj motorcycle registration number UES 279 B belonging to Patrick Owot which was stolen on Sunday from Pece.
Nicholas Otim the head of enforcement at Gulu district boda boda motorcycle association office says the suspect had been a wanted man for allegations of motorcycle theft.
The vanguard local area vice chairperson says the operation was conducted on Thursday morning at around 8:00 a.m and the woman was arrested by locals and taken to police for further management.
He suspects that the woman was being used by her husband to execute their duties.
He says the operation was conducted in the area at around 8:00 a.m. after a tip off from the office of the Gulu District Boda Boda Motorcycles Association office about the suspect`s hideout in the area.
