Gulu Woman Arrested for Setting Couple Ablaze.

Police in Aywee police post have arrested a 35 year old woman for torching a hut housing a couple at Aywee parish in Layibi division Gulu municipality.
The suspect is Mary Achola a resident of the same area, she allegedly set ablaze the marital hut housing, Anthony Okwonga Okettayot and his wife Scovia Abalo on Thursday night at around 3:30 a.m.
Okettayot says he and his wife noticed that there house was on fire after seeing smoke and fire on their roof and scampered out for safety as neighbors also hurried for their rescue.
The victim says they escaped unhurt but some household items were destroyed. He reveals that the incident could have been triggered by a 2014 incident in which the suspect was arrested for stabbing the private part of a six year old girl identified as Flavia Laker.
Oketta says Achola accuses him of masterminding her arrest that led to her conviction for six months in jail.
George Obang the officer In-charge of Aywee police post confirmed the incident. He says the suspect was arrested after police sniffer dogs led them to her house.
By the time of filing this story police said they were yet to record statement from the suspect.
