Defence Witness Pins LDU Personnel’s on Lukodi Attack.

A defense witness has pinned personnel’s of the Local Defense Unit-LDU for failing to protect civilian people during the Lukodi attack by the Lord`s Resistance Army-LRA in 2004.
The 24th defense witness, Michael Okello said 29 LUD personnel’s present during the attack failed to protect lives and save properties of civilians at the Internally Displaced Persons-IDP Camp in 2004.
He made the revelation on Wednesday at the seat of the International Criminal Court-ICC in The Hague.
Okello is among the 62 witnesses defending former commander of the LRA Sinia brigade, Dominic Ongwen who is facing 70 charges for war crimes and crimes against humanity at the ICC.
ICC Outreach for Uganda, Martin Okwir confirmed that Okello testified under a non-protective measure.
Ongwen who is before trial chamber IX is accused of commanding attacks in Pajuel, Abok, Odek and Lukodi IDP Camps between 2002 and 2005.
