Former Archbishop Janani Luwum Wife Burial Date Set.

The former widow of Archbishop Janani Luwum will be buried this week.
Mary Luwum passed on last Tuesday after a battle with cancer, she will be laid to rest in Kitgum district on Thursday 15th in Wii Gweng Village, Mucwini Sub County Kitgum district the final resting place of her late husband, Janani Luwum.
Church of Uganda in partnership with the deceased family released the burial arrangement programme indicating that on Wednesday 14th August a funeral service will be held at Church of the Resurrection in Bugolobi, Kampala.
The body will then leave for Kitgum for the final rest at the Wii Gweng Memorial Site.
Rev. Canon Aaron Mwesigye the Director of Ethics and Religious Affairs in the office of the president last week announced that government will foot the bill for the funeral programme.
Stanley Ntagali, the Archbishop of Church of Uganda last week issued a statement that Mary Luwum, 93 years old died on Tuesday, 6th August at International Hospital Kampala (IHK) following a battle with cancer of the gall balder.
She is survived by six children and many grandchildren.
Ntagali remembers Mary Luwum as a faithful witness to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for many years that inspired many like her husband and may live on through her inspirational testimony.
He explained that Mary Luwum will be remembered as not being ashamed of the Gospel by supporting her husband`s decision to not flee Uganda when threatened by then President Idi Amin, a decision that ultimately led to his martyrdom on 16th February 1977.
