Northern Uganda Muslim Region Struggling to Raise Money for Inauguration of Khadi.

Northern Uganda Muslim Region is struggling to raise funds for the inauguration of the regional Khadi, Sheikh Abdulaziz Hussein Abdulah.
Sheikh Aziz is among the nine regional Khadi’s appointed by Sheikh Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda in an attempt to decentralize power and improve service delivery to Muslims across the country.
His inauguration and swearing in ceremony has been slated for 14th September 2019 at Lango Qu`ran Primary School in Lira district.
President Yoweri Museveni is expected to grace the occasion as Chief Guest.
However with just one week left to the occasion, the Organizing Committee has only been able to raise ten million shillings out of the required 57 million shillings.
Idris Abbas, the Secretary Central Organization Committee fears that they may not get the required money due to low donation from the Muslim community and well-wishers.
He explains that only five million shillings have been raised in cash through fundraising drives and five million shillings in pledge by, Jacob Oulanyah the Deputy Speaker of Parliament.
5000 people countrywide are expected to attend the function. The money is expected to be used for feeding, construction, public address system and security among others.
Sheikh Rubangakene Ahmed, a member of the organizing committee says the decentralization will improve leadership and service deliveries among the Muslims in the different regions.
Sheikh Musa Khelil, the Khadi of Acholi District Muslim appealed for joint support from all stakeholders and well-wishers to make the day colorful.
Sheikh Abdul Aziz Hussein holds a Degree in Sharia Law, he has served as Khadi for Acholi, Arua and Karamoja districts.
