Five Arrested With 400 Kilograms of Ivory in Amuru.

Police in Gulu are holding five people found in possession of ivory weighing over 400 kilograms.
The suspects are Juma Nasuru, Cosmas Apuke, Moses Kakama, Christopher Wamala and Vincent Kamya.
They were arrested over the weekend from Amuru district during a security operation by police, they are being detained at Gulu Central Police Station.
Patrick Jimmy Okema, the Aswa river region police spokesperson said on Monday that the suspects were arrested from different locations in Amuru district following security intelligence network.
Okema says the five have been charged with unlawful possession of wildlife products and their files will be taken to the Resident State Attorney for legal advice before they are produced in court.
The exhibits are at Gulu Central police station. Amuru district neighbors Nwoya district which host hundreds of elephants from the Murchison Falls National Game Park.
