FUFA Releases the DRUM Final Draws.

The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has released fixtures for the last rounds of the second edition of the 2019 FUFA DRUM.
Last year`s defending champion Buganda province have been pooled in Group A alongside Acholi, Tooro and Bukedi while Group B has West Nile, Lango, Busoga and Bugisu provinces.
The quarter final games will kick off on November 21st this year at Pece War Memorial Stadium with the arrival of teams on the 19th of November. It is expected to run until 30th November.
Rogers Byamukama, the Chairman of the FUFA Drum says draws for the championship phase were conducted at the FUFA Headquarters in Mengo Kampala on Monday this week.
Acholi Province will play against defending champion Buganda at the opening match on 21st November from Pece War Memorial Stadium in Gulu.
In the fixtures, Busoga will wrestle West Nile and Bugisu plays Lango on the 22nd November at Akii Bua Stadium in Lira Town.
Other games are Buganda versus Bukedi and Tooro plays Acholi on 23rd November all at Pece Stadium.
On 24th November the game moves to Akii Bua Stadium where Lango will play Busoga, on 25th Bukedi versus Acholi and Tooro versus Buganda at Pece Stadium. On 26th Busoga plays Bugisu and Lango plays West Nile all at Akii Bua Stadium in Lira Town.
Geoffrey Akena, the Acholi Province head coach said that his team is not scared facing the defending champion in the opening match of the final stages.
Bernard Olweny, the Acholi Province publicity officer said that they have summoned all their players to report to their camp in Gulu by 16th of next month to start training ahead of the games.
FUFA Drum started in 2018, it brings together teams from sixteen provinces in Uganda under the theme ‘’Celebrating Our Ancestry’’. FUFA says the Drum is to search football talents across the country.
The winning province is awarded thirty million shillings.
