Gulu SS Crowned Champions Of Super Woman Gala.

Gulu secondary school were on Saturday awarded a trophy and crowned champions of the Super Woman gala competition organized by Wizarts foundation held at the school main hall.

The school emerged over all winner among four secondary schools which include Awach the defending champions, Paicho and Lukome.

The award is done quarterly after every three months. Super Woman is a project which encourages girls to stay and finish education to pursue their goal and become the woman they want to be. It started this year and being done among secondary schools in Gulu and Gomba districts.

The panelists of judges who included Jane Angom Mujoma and Wodmal David announced the school winners basing on a drama they performed which promotes girl child education and gender equality.

Mrs Angom says the winners had met the required qualifications that make them the champions. Among the criteria used were good command of language, execution of roles by characters, audibility and convincing of the panels, natural actions, fast processing of information and listenership by audiences among others.

Other awards of accolades and prices were given to other categories including the best actress and best poem, best drama, best presenter, best play, overall performer, best debater, best story writer and the runner up categories.

The district woman member of parliament Betty Aol Ocan who graced the occasion appreciated the program saying that it will save some from dropping out of school and achieving their dreams.

She appealed to the management of Wizarts foundation to extend the program to all Acholi sub region and primary schools.

 Gabriel Iguma the executive director Wizarts foundation says they will plan to extend the program to primary schools and other parts of the district.
